MULTINATIONAL AUTOMAKER SELECTS CONCURRENT TO POWER ENGINE CONTROL UNIT TESTING

STUTTGART, GERMANY – June 16, 2015 – Concurrent (NASDAQ: CCUR), a global provider of high-performance Linux® and storage solutions, today announced that a major multinational automaker has selected its technology to power hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) engine control unit testing.  The automaker will be using Concurrent’s SIMulation Workbench modeling solution and recently introduced FPGA-based Engine Sensor Simulation card to test new engine control units (ECU).

“We are seeing a growing number of automotive companies who are interested in more flexible, Linux powered, software-based modeling solutions to drive their latest simulators,” said Derek Elder, CEO of Concurrent.  “With 19 automakers already using our technology for man-in-the-loop simulation, we see a great opportunity to expand our relationship with them by delivering a more powerful and cost-effective solution for hardware-in-the-loop applications”.

Concurrent recently launched a host of new products targeted at the automotive market.  Its new FPGA-based Engine Sensor Simulation card provides an enhanced ECU interface that is ideal for testing new automotive technologies such as next generation engine designs.  When paired with Concurrent’s advanced SIMulation Workbench software and RedHawk real-time operating system, the new FPGA card enables automotive companies to run complex simulations more quickly using leading modeling packages such as MathWorks’ MATLAB/Simulink® products and other popular tools such as VI-grade, SIMPACK, AMESim®, Virtual.Lab Motion, Dymola®, MapleSim™, GT-Suite.

“Automotive engineers need to ensure each vehicle’s ECU will correctly process the large number of signals used in modern automobile design,” said Ken Jackson, Concurrent Senior Vice President, Real-Time and Linux. “By employing a powerful HIL ECU simulation environment with comprehensive, reproducible and more reliable virtual testing, manufacturers can bring innovative products to market faster, with higher quality, and at a lower cost.”

Concurrent will be demonstrating its latest simulation and testing solutions for the automotive market at the Automotive Testing Expo in Stuttgart, Germany on June 16-18, 2015, Stand #1371.
